Hello and Good Morning!

This is a spot for my daughter and I to record our thoughts about what's going on in our lives and in the world around us. We cook, we garden, we write (mainly her), we do many different crafts off and on and we are very into history from many different ages. We are currently on a quest to live a more self sufficient life so small lot homesteading will also be discussed. I'm a firm believer in locally or home grown, home made and grass fed when it comes to our food but with that being said there are things that we don't want to give up and being in New England we just can't grow here without expending more energy that it takes to transport it in. For example there are times when bananas are almost an imperative and don't even think of taking away my chocolate or coffee. I try to keep it to a minimum (well maybe not the chocolate) and not if there is something local in season but we're all human and I don't see long term denial as the best way to stick with something. Well, welcome to our world and we're looking forward to sharing yours.

  2. Right now we're looking at King Philip's War which happened right here in Western Mass around 1675. It's very cool. Because of it Jay's getting into reproduction muzzle loaders and flint locks. He's been learning a lot about the history of guns. I may be able to convince him eventually to do Rev War reenactment but that's probably down the road a bit.
